Amazon Delivers?

Image
I read earlier this week that Amazon partnered with online food ordering company Olo in hopes adding fast food in their delivering food services. To be honest, I didn't even know that Amazon delivered food. Uber Eats has taken over the online ordering and delivery service of food in the recent years. With this new partnership, Amazon hopes to change that. Olo has an exclusive network of more than 200 brands, including major fast food restaurants like Chipotle and Five Guys, all across the United States. The online food industry is expected to increase by 79 percent according to analysts. So it was better late than never that Amazon has made this partnership. What makes Amazon different from Uber Eats? Well, Amazon hopes to have exclusive restaurants with their delivery service that Uber Eats will not. They hope that this will attract customers to order food with them.  Once the restaurants pick a side, then it will eventually come down to delivery time and price.  But f

Fight Of The Century?

Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (left) and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez squared off September 16th, 2017 in the T-Mobile Arena.  After what he felt was a "disappointing" and "disrespectful" showing of boxing in the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight, Oscar De La Hoya named the Alvarez vs. Golovkin fight the "Fight of the Century."  Although it did not live up to the hype in some people's eyes, it is expected to do well in the Pay-Per-View buys and exceeded live gate number projections. After being shown in over 30 countries, the fight put both fighters on the map and gave them the ability to showcase their skills on an international level. The interesting thing about this fight is that one fighter does not speak a lick of English and the other speaks broken English. So how did this fight do so well in the American market? Oscar De La Hoya on the day of the fight.  Promoter Oscar De La Hoya did a great job pitting this fight against t

Precautions For Profits?

As well all know, Hurrican Irma has hit Athens, Georgia.  While we are dealing with severe power outages and fallen trees, the destruction is much, much worse in Florida. One of my closest friends from Orlando is staying with me for the week due to the hurricane.  When he first called me, he told me he was driving up instead of flying.  I was curious why he wanted to drive since there would be so much traffic and I have a car.  He told me that he couldn't afford a flight because ticket prices had skyrocketed to over 500 dollars for one way! Airlines like American Airlines and Delta Airlines are profiting off of Floridians trying to evacuate properly.  How more un-American can this be? Just a few weeks ago we were showing support Texas and coming together as a nation.  Now it is almost as if certain companies are faulting the people for natural disasters.  It is just cruel and unfair.  I found an article on Independent.com that talks more about this issue.  http

Ball In The Family

Image
Do you know who these men are?  If not, then you will soon.  The youngest son in the red suit (LaMelo Ball) received a Lamborghini for his 16th birthday.  The father (Lavar Ball) is on the record stating that he would "kill" Michael Jordan in one on one basketball. He is the second person from the left side of the picture.  The oldest son in the Lakers hat (Lonzo Ball) went number two in the draft and expected to bring the Lakers back to glory.  The middle son (LiAngelo Ball) was recently told by Lavar that he will be the only brother not to make it to the NBA.  He is the furthest right of the picture. Does this seem outrageous to you? How about the $495 price tag for Lonzo's sneaker before he's even played a day in the NBA? What if I told you that this outrageous family, led by Lavar, landed their own television show.  Like it or not, their own social media presence has created more opportunity for them than any traditional marketing tactic could.  Soci

Mayweather Vs. McGregor: They Gave Us What We Wanted

Where were you August 26th, 2017 around a quarter till midnight? I believe most of you would say on a couch or at a bar watching this historic fight between the future hall of fame boxer deemed "The Best Ever" and superstar MMA fighter who goes by "The Notorious."  The only thing bigger than this event in the past five years would their behemoth of a payday...and the circus we called the 2016 Presidential Election.  But why would a fight between an undefeated boxer and an MMA fighter who had no experience in a boxing ring possibly top the list of top grossing boxing matches in history? My answer is simple: the fans got what they wanted to see when they wanted to see it.  Social Media gives us instant access to important information, current events, news.  Social media can also give us access to unwanted opinions and beliefs.  I believe this is what eventually led to the fight between the two superstars.  One comment by Conor McGregor led to a trending topic o
